HORSEHEAD GRASSHOPPER
Pseudoproscopia latirostris
© Scott Thompson aka macrojunkieThese absolutely incredible looking insects are HORSEHEAD GRASSHOPPERS from Peru! They resemble stick insects in many ways (and like stick insects they feed on leaves such as bramble and oak) but as they are grasshoppers they have enormously long back legs and can hop surprisingly well considering how thin these legs are!

The 8th picture in this photoset is the longest GIF I’ve ever made, it lasts 8.1 seconds. In the world of gifs, this is a lot.
